Santa Fe, New Mexico has has been featured in some of the best food shows and magazines. We made it our mission to seek out these eateries and and try their signature dishes. Jerry and I really feel that it is our duty as Americans to "test" as many of the places that have been featured just to see if indeed you should try to dine at the spots that have been acclaimed and rewarded. These are all yummy places!

Our first stop was Bert's Burger Bowl. Featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, it is the home of a Green Chile Cheeseburger.

Waiting to order.

Good! Good! Burger!
Ready for the next one!
On the Old Las Vegas Highway just out side of Santa Fe we found our next "as seen on T.V. taste test" and I am so glad we did. Yummy- yummy breakfast!
Come on, we are a couple of hungry guys!
The chalkboard menu -I ordered the granola waffle with honey butter, strawberries and bananas. Jerry had a fish dish.
My breakfast. Mouth watering!!!
Skip enjoying his ham and eggs.
Terri enjoyed her breakfast, too!
Settling up!
We brought home Road House granola. It didn't last long enough, we need more!
Skip and Jerry standing in front of our best find ever, THE BOBCAT BITE. Also located on the Old Las Vegas Highway just down from Harry's Road House the Bobcat Bite is worth the drive.
Our name is on the list!

Yes! We look like we just finished the #1 Burger in America. So good that Jerry and Skip are already planning another stop in September!
More on Santa Fe to come. It's a wonderful place to vacation!

On June 11th Jerry and I headed to Santa Fe, New Mexico for "Toppers 2009". Seven days of fun and relaxation and we got to share it with our dear friends Skip and Terri.
We stayed at the Buffalo Thunder Golf Resort and Casino just north of Santa Fe.
The resort is new and the accommodations wonderful.
Our room overlooked this part of the golf course. Although it has only been around about six years Jerry said that it was very nice to play on.
More views from our room.
On Friday we got up and headed out for a day of golf at Paa Ko Ridge just outside of Albuquerque.
Getting the course instructions.
Jerry studying the course.
Terri and I drove the carts. My cart is to the right and this is just before I ran over Jerry's new driver. OUCH!! I'm really glad that he had already shared spending money with me!!
Practice!
Skip is getting ready !
Awesome par three!!
Putting it on the green.
PLAY!!
Has anyone seen my ball??
A very beautiful course.
Back at the club house. What a fun day! I hope that we can do it again!

While out and about one Saturday in late May we spotted the Jack -N- Grill on Federal in Denver. We immediately new this was the place to stop. In an area where restaurants line the streets, this place was the only one that looked packed! We made the block, parked and got in line.
Ash and Jerry enjoying chips and salsa.
Once inside, Jerry remembered seeing this place on one of the travel / food networks. Home of the 7 pound burrito. (We saw a couple share one). I had this giant Stuffed Sopapillas burger covered in green chiles. YUM! And yes I had leftovers!!

Amanda, our daughter, loves to race. So far during the 2009 season she has completed about five races and has about five more to go. The first weekend of May she raced at The Garden of The Gods in Colorado Springs and we cheered for her. Amanda and her boyfriend A.J. were so excited about the first race of the summer. We took them to eat at TGI Friday's when they got to the Springs the night before. Lots of carbs!

Cold and lined up ready to go. The temperature was about 38 degrees when the race started burr...........
The big hill!! Both start and finish for the 5K.
Lola really wanted to run!
All done! One down, 'bout a dozen more to go!!
Amanda with her first race t-shirt of the 2009 season.
WAY TO GO PITA!!!
